Mischa Davison, BA, B.Ed., M.Ed.
Registered Psychologist (Provisional)
I am a warm and empathic person who believes that change and healing take place within a container of emotional safety. I use an integrative approach to my work, combining practical solution-focused and cognitive-based strategies with innovative, evidenced-based therapeutic tools to help clients move to a place of greater self-regulation, relational connection, and emotional wellness. I have advanced training in Somatic Experiencing ® and play therapy.
My passion as a therapist is to help individuals, couples and families to experience growth and healing through increased self-regulation and a holistic integration of thoughts, feelings and body experience. For over 10 years I have provided counselling, psycho-educational sessions and workshops to clients of all ages and cultural backgrounds around post-traumatic stress, women’s issues, couples and family relationships, parenting skills, and children’s mental health. I have clinical experience working with a wide variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, issues of mood, and trauma. More recently, I have expanded my practice to include working with couples, addressing issues of trust, communication and intimacy.
I have many years of experience working cross-culturally and offer a safe and welcoming space for clients of all cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.
