Practicum Student Counsellor

I’m Sheena Marques, a Practicum Student completing my Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. With over a decade of experience in the helping field, I am dedicated to supporting individuals in creating safety, managing mental health crises, and building wellness.

My counselling approach is rooted in Person-Centred care, emphasizing a trauma-informed and collaborative style. I incorporate modalities such as motivational interviewing, Gestalt therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. In our fast-paced lives and limitless distractions, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves and our communities. Recognizing that trauma and wellness exist in both the mind and body, I focus on bridging the connection between thoughts and sensations to inspire insight and healing.

My purpose is to empower you to uncover the insights necessary for becoming your favourite self, fostering a rediscovery of self through mindfulness, movement, and experiential interventions. I strive to create a safe and supportive therapeutic space for all clients, where we can explore experiences, thoughts, and emotions with a spirit of open curiosity.

I offer counselling services at the Saskatoon office or virtually for individuals aged 10 and older, addressing:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Motivation and goal achievement
  • Trauma
  • Addiction and substance use
  • Life transitions
  • Attachment Trauma
