Clinical Counsellor/Registered Social Worker

With over 15 years of dedicated service in the field of social work, I am a seasoned Registered Social Worker holding a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Regina. I have worked within the healthcare system most of my career with children, youth, adults and families, providing support and advocating throughout complex challenges. I have worked in mental health and addiction services as well as many areas of acute care as a medical social worker.

With an integrated approach, I utilize client-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused methods to empower individuals. In addition to traditional counselling, I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a highly effective modality for clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression and more. I have experience with trauma informed care, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT) & Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Recognized for a practical and down-to-earth style, I aim to create a comfortable, empathetic and non-judgmental environment and incorporate humour when appropriate. I believe that everyone is unique and has the ability to grow & heal with the right support.

I have a strong focus and passion working with maternal mental health and I am dedicated to providing comprehensive support to women navigating the challenges of pre-natal and postpartum periods. This encompasses addressing mental health concerns, self-esteem, and the overall well-being of mothers during this critical phase. I also support couples in their journey into new parenthood, offering guidance on various aspects of parenting and its impact on mental and emotional well-being.

I am also drawn to supporting adolescents and youth through their unique struggles, I emphasize building trust and confidence in this transformative period.

As an approved provider for Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations (NIHB), I ensure culturally sensitive care.

I work with individuals (ages 10+), couples and families in the following areas:

  • Addiction/Substance Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Abuse (Emotional & Physical)
  • Chronic illness/Health challenges/Diagnosis

  • Maternal health/Prenatal & Postpartum
  • Self-esteem/Body image

Outside of work, I cherish time with my busy little ones but also try hard to create balance and prioritize self-care to be the best mom & professional I can be.
