I am a Registered Social Worker who has worked with individuals, families and professional groups since 1998. I have worked in both frontline and management positions throughout my career in both government and school systems and have provided counselling on First Nation reserves within Saskatchewan. I have a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina and have acquired certification in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce, New Ways for Families, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and as a Certified Life Coach and can administer the Strong Inventory Assessment pertaining to career counselling. I am experienced in supporting clients with a variety of mental health concerns and emotional challenges which can interfere in so many aspects of our lives.
My passion and commitment for helping others runs deep. I have trained in Conflict Resolution, Crucial Conversations, leadership, Violence Risk Assessment, and Safe Talk. My knowledge of family systems theory and societal issues impacting individuals and families has led me to develop highly effective skills and tools to assist clients in reaching successful outcomes. My continued learning is essential to working together with clients to support them through their own strengths and abilities. I believe every client’s situation is unique and therefore tailor my therapeutic approach to meet their individual needs.
What works for one may not work for someone else. Therefore, through our sessions, I will combine a number of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), conflict resolution, family systems theory and solution focused problem solving to assist individuals and families in addressing areas of concern. I provide clinical services in a number of areas including:
