Nicole Meckelborg, BISW, RSW
Clinical Counsellor/Registered Social Worker
My education and experience as a Social Worker for 21 years has provided me with the skills and abilities that are needed to provide clinical counselling. I received my bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Social Work from the First Nations University of Canada in 2001. There was a large cultural component involved in the program that shaped my learning from a cultural perspective that has continued to inform and guide my practice.
I have worked with a very diverse group of colleagues, families, children, youth and community partners, and government agencies. Working relationships, collaborative planning and information gathering are very important to my work. I rely on the use of analytical skills, seeing situations, crises and issues that face the families and youth in an unbiased way, bringing compassion and empathy to the table but with the right balance of reason to work clients through the issues at hand. No one situation is the same, no one plan will fix every problem, and the ability to look at all areas when making assessments, then gather most relevant information and collaborate with others, allows for solid interventions.
I am excited to continue my journey in private practice. I am looking forward to continuing to explore and master various counselling methods to better serve the clients I work with.
I provide services to clients ages 12+, individuals, and families in the Saskatoon and Kindersley offices. My areas include but are not limited to:
