Introducing the New Ways for Families® Decision Skills Class
Aspire Too is very excited to offer the New Ways for Families® – Decision Skills Group. This is a group class for both parents and childless couples who are contemplating or experiencing separation or divorce. New Ways for Families® is a method used to teach and practice four essential conflict resolution skills. The skills focus on helping participants learn how to co-parent; even high conflict co-parents can learn to work together to make decisions in the best interests of their child(ren). The primary goal of the Decision Skills Group is to help parents learn the skills necessary to make joint decisions and reduce parent conflict, to ultimately reduce time and money spent in court. The Decision Skills Class is designed to be a group learning activity, covered in a one day four hour class.
Parents will learn about, and have the opportunity to practice, the four big skills: 1. Moderate Behaviours, 2. Managed Emotions, 3. Flexible Thinking, and 4. Checking Yourself. These skills are essential when making good decisions for children. Parents will also learn how to respond to hostile emails, letters and/or other communication from the other parent, as well as how to make parenting proposals and decisions.
Groups will be offered in Melfort, Prince Albert, and Saskatoon.
